This fan solved the problem we had in our new house that does not have a range hood that vents to the outside. The range hood just blows cooking steam and grease on the cabinets above. I couldn't get a photo to show how this fan sucks the cooking steam into the mesh screen, but it really does. The grease catcher is easy to clean and remove. Sometimes it is half full. We have not had to wash our upper cabinets in the weeks since we bought it, and we were having to wash them down at least once a week. I do a lot of stir frying and this works great. Only wish I'd bought this earlier.
